JJIF Women's Commission

The Women’s Commission is in charge of strategies, policies, and initiatives to advance the participation, representation, and empowerment of women in ju jitsu, both on and off the tatami.

The responsibilities of the Commission are to:

-Promote and advocate for increased participation of women in ju jitsu as athletes, coaches, referees, administrators, and leaders.
-Support governance reforms that ensure women have meaningful representation in leadership and decision-making bodies of the federation.
-Encourage safe and inclusive practice environments, with special attention to safeguarding, respect, and equality of treatment.

-Raise awareness through campaigns, events, and communications that highlight women’s achievements and encourage positive role models in martial arts.
-Advocate equitable access to resources, such as training facilities, scholarships, coaching opportunities, and leadership pathways.
-Collaborate with national and international partners (e.g., women in sport organisations, universities, NGOs) to promote women’s involvement in ju jitsu.
-Monitor and report on progress to ensure transparency and accountability in advancing women’s opportunities in ju jitsu.
