Inclusion – Sport for Everyone

What Inclusion Means to JJIF

At the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF), inclusion is not just a principle – it is our practice. We believe every person, regardless of background, ability, or circumstance, should have the chance to experience the joy of Ju-Jitsu.

Through inclusive programs and Para Ju-Jitsu, we make sure that everyone can find a place on the mat.

Para Ju-Jitsu: Programs & Classification

JJIF has established official Para Ju-Jitsu divisions that allow athletes with different abilities to compete fairly and safely. Categories exist for:

  • Athletes with visual impairments
  • Athletes with cognitive impairments
  • Athletes with physical impairments

This ensures that competition focuses on skill, technique, and spirit – never on limitations.

Recent Developments

  • New Cooperation in Germany – Through “Not-With-Me!”, JJIF and DJJV are strengthening anti-violence and inclusion initiatives in schools.
  • Global Recognition – Para Ju-Jitsu was presented at the SportAccord World Combat Games 2023 and inclusive self-defense was showcased at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu.
  • Growing Partnerships – JJIF is working closely with international partners and pursuing recognition by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
  • Future Opportunities – Instructor training programs for inclusive Ju-Jitsu are planned across Europe starting in 2026.
