Lausanne, Switzerland – 5 October 2026 — The Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) and the International School Sport Federation (ISF) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Lausanne, establishing a framework for closer cooperation in the fields of education, youth development and sport.

The agreement was signed by JJIF President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos and ISF President Željko Tanasković, who underlined the importance of bringing together the expertise and experience of both international organisations to create new opportunities for young people through sport.

The partnership aims to bring JJIF's expertise in Ju-Jitsu into schools, supporting the development of educational and sporting programmes that promote physical activity, discipline, respect, inclusion and personal development among young people.

A key ambition of the cooperation is to explore opportunities for the inclusion of Ju-Jitsu in ISF Games and competitions, strengthening the presence of the sport within the international school sport movement.

The collaboration will focus particularly on young athletes and the development of pathways from school sport towards international competition. ISF's multi-sport Games for U18 and U15 athletes provide an important platform for young people from around the world to experience international sport and build lasting connections through competition.

For JJIF, the agreement represents another important step in expanding Ju-Jitsu's reach among younger generations and strengthening its role within international youth and educational sport. JJIF already has a strong presence across major international sporting movements, including university sport and multi-sport events.

Speaking about the agreement, JJIF President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos highlighted the importance of cooperation between international sport organisations in creating opportunities for the next generation of athletes.

“This Memorandum of Understanding is an important step for Ju-Jitsu and for young people around the world. By bringing JJIF's knowledge and experience into the school environment, we can help more young people discover Ju-Jitsu and its values. We look forward to working closely with ISF to develop new opportunities for participation and competition.”

ISF President Željko Tanasković underlined the value of strengthening cooperation between education and sport and creating opportunities for young athletes to participate in an international sporting environment.

The MoU establishes a foundation for continued collaboration between JJIF and ISF, with both organisations committed to developing initiatives that connect education, youth sport and the values of Ju-Jitsu.

The partnership marks a new chapter in the development of Ju-Jitsu within school sport and opens the way for further discussions on its future participation in ISF's international multi-sport Games for U15 and U18 athletes, as well as other educational and sporting initiatives.
