The World Championship for juniors and Aspirants in Athens was another prove for the rising popularity of Ju-Jitsu in the world. The Greek federation gave a perfect organization for the young Ju-Jitsu Champions to perform their abilities.
In Athens the excellence of organization and sportive performance met for three days.
While the Greek Sport-Fan Amateur Ju-Jitsu Federation organized one of the best championships ever in JJIF this was the perfect floor for the athletes to show the constantly growing quality of the competitions.
As it is not easy for young people from Asia to travel to Europe only few JJAU members participated in this World Championship. But the little number of participants proved the quality of Ju-Jitsu in Asia. With 10 participants the (Ne-Waza) Jiu-Jitsu athetes from United Arab Emirates were able to reach the first place in the nation ranking of this discipline. Coaches and athletes were very happy to achieve 4 Gold medals.
JJAU supported the event with organizing a two days referee clinics to guarantee the quality of judging with new rules in Ne-Waza Jiu-Jitsu.
Next year the World Championship for youth shall be in Asia and we expect a tremendous participation and the related results.
