JU JITSU WORLD CONTACT CHAMPIONSHIP STARTED IN ANTALYA

The Ju Jitsu World Contact Championship, held in Antalya between May 14-17, 2026, officially started with an opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony was attended by JJIF Vice President Nuvin Proag, JJIF Technical Delegate Peter Schouten, President of the Turkish Muaythai and Jujitsu Federation Hasan Yıldız, Antalya Youth and Sports Branch Director Hakan Gündüz, Federation Vice President Korkmaz Atalay, vice presidents, board members, presidents of national federations, and participating teams.

Antalya Youth and Sports Branch Director Hakan Gündüz stated that they were very pleased to host the organization in Antalya and emphasized that Antalya has become a world city for sports. He also thanked all participating countries and wished success to all athletes and teams.

President Hasan Yıldız stated in his speech that this organization is being held in Türkiye for the first time and expressed his belief that it will contribute greatly to the development of Ju Jitsu in the country and pave the way for hosting larger international events in the future. He thanked, especially the President of Türkiye, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Antalya Provincial Directorate, Kemer Governorship, Kemer Municipality, Viking Hotel Group, and everyone who contributed to the organization.

JJIF Vice President Nuvin Proag expressed his happiness to be present at the Contact Ju Jitsu World Championship and stated that organizing the championship in Türkiye created a special excitement. He thanked the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Turkish Muaythai and Jujitsu Federation for their support and organization efforts. Proag also stated that he believes Türkiye will reach a very high level in this sport and continue to contribute significantly to the world Ju Jitsu family, while wishing success to all participating countries.
