During the Annual General Meeting of the International World Games Association held on 25 April 2026 in Lausanne, a new leadership team was elected for the 2026-2030 term. Alongside the election of Anna Arzhanova as President, Joachim Thumfart, General Director of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation, was elected as a Member of the IWGA Executive Committee.
This represents an important step for JJIF, securing direct representation within one of the key decision-making bodies of the international multi-sport environment. The Executive Committee is elected by IWGA’s membership and brings together representatives of various International Federations.
The newly elected Executive Committee will guide the IWGA through the next strategic cycle, including preparations for future editions of The World Games and broader development initiatives.
The IWGA is an international non-profit organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee, responsible for organizing and promoting The World Games. Its Executive Committee oversees the organization between General Meetings, focusing on strategy, operations, financial governance, and cooperation with stakeholders across the international sports movement.
