Genoa, Italy will become the center of international Ju-Jitsu this February as it hosts the Genoa Open JJIF Grand Prix 2026, a major ranking event under the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF). The prestigious tournament will bring together athletes around 25 nations, competing at the highest international level.
The event will take place from February 6 to 8, 2026, at the Palasport Genova, welcoming top competitors, coaches, referees, and officials from around the world. As an official JJIF Grand Prix, the competition offers valuable world ranking points and is expected to feature a high technical standard and strong sporting spirit.
Athletes will compete across multiple disciplines, including Ju-Jitsu Fighting, Jiu-Jitsu, Duo System, Show System, Contact Ju-Jitsu (HIF), Para Ju-Jitsu, and Inclusive Self Defence, with categories for men, women, and mixed teams. The tournament is open to adult athletes aged 18 and above, following official JJIF rules and regulations.
The Genoa Open is organized by Lino Team Ju-Jitsu e Judo ASD, in cooperation with the Italian Ju-Jitsu National Organization and the Federazione Italiana Judo Lotta Karate e Arti Marziali (FIJLKAM), with the support of JJIF. International referees and technical delegates appointed by JJIF will ensure fair play and the highest organizational standards throughout the competition.
The Genoa Open promises intense competition, cultural exchange, and an exciting showcase of Ju-Jitsu excellence. The event is expected to attract strong international attention and further strengthen Genoa’s reputation as a host city for major sporting events.
