African Ju-Jitsu Championship was organised in Hammamet with successful Competition

The African Ju-Jitsu Championship successfully concluded a five-day event in Hammamet, Tunisia, running from December 16 to 20, 2025. Hosted by the Fédération Tunisienne de Ju-Jitsu (FTJJ) , the championship featured top athletes across multiple age groups, including Masters, Adults, U18, and U16, with detailed results provided for Adult and U14 categories.
Adult Competition Highlights
The adult categories, which included disciplines like Jiu-Jitsu and Contact HIF Ju-Jitsu, showcased the growing strength and diversity of the sport across the continent. Medals were keenly contested among athletes representing numerous nations, including Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Angola, Mauritius, Gabon, Senegal, and Libya.
Notable gold medal winners in the Adult divisions included:
  • MOUHOUB Mohamed (Algeria) in ADULTS JIU-JITSU MALE +94 KG.
  • JELILI Hajer (Tunisia) in ADULTS JIU-JITSU FEMALE +70 KG.
  • HIMMI Mourad (Morocco) in ADULTS CONTACT HIF JU-JITSU MALE -77 KG.
  • RAFAEL Lussano (Angola) in ADULTS JIU-JITSU MALE -77 KG.
Host Nation Dominates Youth Categories
The host nation, Tunisia, demonstrated exceptional strength in the youth ranks, particularly in the U14 categories (Jiu-Jitsu, No-Gi, and Fighting).
Two athletes secured multiple gold medals for Tunisia:
  • SAHLI ASSIL EYA earned dual gold in U14 JIU-JITSU FEMALE +57 kg and U14 JIU-JITSU NO-GI FEMALE +57 kg.
  • CHEBBI AHMED ZAKARIYA claimed gold in U14 JIU-JITSU MALE -36 kg and U14 JIU-JITSU NO-GI MALE -36 kg.
Mauritius also made a strong showing, with HAZAREESING NASHITA VIBHUTI winning silver in both U14 JIU-JITSU FEMALE +57 kg and U14 JIU-JITSU NO-GI FEMALE +57 kg.
The championship successfully highlighted the top talent and competitive nature of Ju-Jitsu across the African Union (JJAFU), promising an exciting future for the sport on the continent.
