From the 2025 World Championships in Bangkok, the JJIF has introduced new rules:
Only equipment from licensed brands will be allowed on the mat. This ensures fair competition, uniform safety standards and equal opportunities for all athletes. Ju-Sports and adidas have worked closely with the JJIF to develop and certify equipment that:
- fully complies with JJIF regulations
- is tested for safety and performance
- is used by top athletes and national teams worldwide
What does it mean for the World Championship 2025?
only Hand and Foot/Shin protection in
1) Fighting Ju-Jitsu
2) Contact Ju-Jitsu
must:
1) fulfil the requirements by JJIF competition rules and
2) be from official master suppliers adidas or Ju-Sport.
No other equipment is effected. A logo sticker or approval sign on the equipment is not requested for now. Due to logistical issues it was not possible to label all products. Head guards for Contact Ju-Jitsu are exempted until further notice.
Both Master Suppliers plan to have sales booth in the World Championship
